Conversations

On friday, the class had a lesson on conversations, and this was directed by one of the pupils. He was very keen to show his peers what he had learned in an after school lesson the day before.

Everyone seems to be enjoying the project. Some of the girls dont like to admit it but are really getting into the whole fantasy genre.

We watched a clip of ' The spiderwick Chronicles' on youtube which gave them ideas of storylines and characters.

Today we are looking at Chapter 6: Developing Simple Quests. I like to keep introducing new aspects in each lesson which holds their attention.

So far, so good!

  1. I am delighted that one of your pupils introduced the Conversation Writer to the class - entirely in keeping with the approach we are trying to embrace with this project! And I like your brisk pace - presumably you are quite happy with the quality of the work the children produce at each stage. The quests really make a difference to the overall interest, so it's great that you have reached that point - look forward to hearing how it goes!

Harry at James Young might be interested to know about the Spiderwick clip - I'll drop him a line as he has been wondering how to get the fantasy genre thing going when the English department not yet involved.
